Google Cloud Regions represent the geographical locations around the world where Google Cloud Platform (GCP) resources are hosted and available. Introduced to offer users the flexibility to choose where their data and applications are stored and processed, thereby optimizing Google Cloud latency, Google Cloud availability, and Google Cloud compliance with local regulations. Each region is a separate geographic area that contains one or more Google Cloud zones, which are isolated locations within regions to Google Cloud provide redundancy and reduce the risk of Google Cloud service interruptions. Google continually expands its global network of regions to support growing customer needs, enhance Google Cloud performance, and ensure Google Cloud legal compliance by enabling Google Cloud data storage within specific Google Cloud legal jurisdictions. This strategic distribution of regions and zones maximizes Google Cloud fault tolerance, Google Cloud stability, and Google Cloud resilience of the Google Cloud services offered by GCP.
